Exposing the Frame Work

Ned has been so excited as he slowly takes out EVERY brass screw from the siding and top and carefully removes each piece.  The frame looks to be in good shape with only a few pieces that will need to be cut, shaped and replaced.  However, he will clean, sand and reseal the entire framework to bring it back to "like new" condition.

Not a good lookin' piece.  Ned will cut a new piece of wood to the exact shape and size of this

Bottoms Finished

Ned has finished the bottom and has flipped the boat.  He put a 5200 bottom on this also.  He flipped the boat with his pully (sp?) system before I got out there with the camera.  So this is looking from the top down into the inside.

Now he's working on removing all the old Mahogany from the top and sides to get it down to the frame work.  He had a smile on his face last night of how good the skeletal frame is in.

Another Chris Craft Enters the Shop

Ned has started a new project now that Buckaroo is sold.  This is a 1947 17' Custom Runabout.  Must say, it fits easier into the shop than the 1946 20' Custom did (Buckaroo).  Let the fun begin!!!!

SOLD!!!!!

We've sold Buckaroo!!!!  Saying goodbye!!!

It's finished

Well, it has been a year since my dear husband Ned has posted to his blog. The Chris Craft has been finished since August of 2010 and he entered it into the Payette Lake (McCall, Idaho) Antique and Classic Boat Show. He took first place in "Amateur Restoration". I have been wanting all to see the finished product, so will post some pictures for him.
